in beautiful Nimes - the south of France
If Golf is your game, then staying at Chateau Miles is a great place to stay.
The beautiful golf course of Camargue is located just 8 kilometres south of Nimes and has been officially rated in the top 75 golf courses within Europe.
It had the honour during 6 consecutive years to be chosen to welcome the world's best players at the time (Bernhard Langer, Nick Faldo, Gregg Norman and Ian Woosnam) to play for the Open Cacharel (the semi-official World Championship for players under 25 years of age).
The golf course, which stretches out over a vast woody and hilly domain of 54 hectares is one of the most beautiful private golf courses in France and was built on a site loaded with history.
Having belonged in former days to the Templars, it was around the year 1900, following a fire that the proprietor at the time, Monsieur Arnaud, decided to construct the building as we see it today. Being a miniature replica of the White House in Washington, he baptised it The White Home in 1902
The course is reputed for its greens and their difficulty, its narrow fairways, flanked by a colourful variety of trees.
The good news for golfers is that you do not need to bring your own golf clubs when staying at Chateau Miles, for Keith has not one, but two sets of clubs for you to use during your stay.
